Major event venues are planned at Reno’s Neon Line (near the Sands Regency), Virginia City, Reno Harley-Davidson and Carson City Motorsports and Battle Born Harley-Davidson in Carson City.

At Battle Born Harley-Davidson, the festivities begin at 5 p.m. Thursday with live music from One Way Street. Battle Born Harley-Davidson is located at 2900 Research Way in Carson City.

The Nevada Highway Patrol is asking the public to be aware of the motorcycle assault on the road this weekend.

“We definitely want people to come to the area and have a good time. At the end of the day, for us it’s a matter of public safety, ”said NHP Private Charles Caster.

“We remind riders that there are no separate lanes in the state of Nevada. Second, riders must wear helmets. Riders must ride responsibly. They must not ride under the influence of alcohol, marijuana and other controlled substances, ”he said.

For the automotive public, NHP advises the following:

– Motorcycles are smaller and do not have the same roll cage as vehicles. Motorists should be sure to physically check their blind spots, not just check their mirrors.

– As always, motorists should always use their turn signals when turning and changing lanes.

– NHP announces that there will be congestion on the roads this weekend. Therefore, NHP asks everyone on the road to be patient and courteous to fellow motorists.

– NHP informs that there will be active construction zones in the region. NHP asks motorists to obey signage in these construction zones, including lane changes and speed reductions.

The Nevada Highway Patrol will have additional troops on the road this weekend for security and enforcement reasons.
