Next Yezdi bike officially teased ahead of India launch

Classic Legends relaunched the famous Czech brand – Jawa – in India and then brought the UK-based BSA motorcycle brand back to life. Having resurrected these two classic motorcycle brands, Classic Legends is now preparing to revive another iconic motorcycle brand; the Mahindra-owned company will revive the Yezdi motorcycle brand in India. In case you forgot, Yezdi bikes went on sale in India in the late 1960s and remained in production until the late 1990s. The Yezdi range, which had bikes such as Roadking , Classic, CL II, Monarch, etc., was extremely popular in the country and often featured in Bollywood films. To this day, several Yezdi bikes are still circulating in the country, keeping the brand name alive.

Classic Legends officially revealed Yezdi’s arrival in India in October this year and the brand has now officially announced its first bike for the Indian market. The Matrix Resurrection-themed teaser doesn’t reveal anything about the upcoming Yezdi bike, but points to an imminent unveiling of the vehicle.

Just like the old Yezdi bikes based on the Jawa motorcycles, the new Yezdi bikes will also be based on the Jawa bikes. No official information is available, but Yezdi plans to launch three new motorcycles in India next year, including an adventure motorcycle and a scrambler. The ADV is likely to use Perak’s 334cc liquid-cooled DOHC engine which generates a maximum power of 30hp and 33Nm of torque. This unit is paired with a six-speed constant mesh gearbox. And as for the scrambler, it could be based on the Jawa Classic, using a 293cc engine with 23hp and 27Nm on tap. And when it comes to names, the Yezdi brand is expected to use two names for its bikes – Yezdi and Roadking – both of which were registered earlier this year.
