A 52-year-old motorcyclist was taken to hospital after his motorbike caught fire along Mandai Avenue on Monday (January 24th).
Video of the incident has emerged online, showing the motorbike in flames in the middle lane of the road.
The fire sent plumes of black smoke into the air as other vehicles drove past the motorcycle.
A conscious motorcyclist when taken to Khoo Teck Phuat Hospital
In response to questions from Mothership, police said they were alerted to an accident involving a motorcycle on Mandai Avenue at 7:39 a.m. on January 24.
The 52-year-old motorcyclist was conscious when taken to hospital.
He is currently participating in police investigations for reckless driving, police added.
The Singapore Civil Defense Force (SCDF) said Mothership that he was alerted to the fire and extinguished it using a water hose reel.
The SCDF also said the man was taken to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
