Harley-Davidson entered the growing adventure touring segment with the new Pan America 1250. Although it has been available overseas for a few months, it was recently launched in India. We were lucky enough to hang out with him and you can read all about our experience here. For now, let’s take a look at some of his alluring images from our first driving review.
The Pan America 1250’s design is quite unique with the front fascia inspired by the Road Glide touring motorcycle. This horizontally stacked unit is surrounded by an angular hood and a large windshield on top.
There is a sculpted fuel tank with the Harley logo, a split seat configuration, and a sturdy rear rack. Notably, the driver’s seat benefits from a manual three-level height adjustment option.
The Pan America 1250 is unlike any other Harley with as many features and electronics as one would expect in a modern full-size adventure touring motorcycle.
It boasts a full LED lighting setup with cornering lights and a 6.8-inch color TFT instrument cluster with a host of information on offer. This console benefits from Bluetooth connectivity and provides access to music, calls and navigation controls.
The array of electronic gadgets available include tilt sensitive traction control, cornering ABS, electronically linked brake system, hill-hold control, cruise control and engine brake control.
The special variant of the bike also offers eight riding modes in total. These include five pre-programmed driving modes and three customizable modes.
Another highlight of the Special variant is the presence of an electronically adjustable semi-active suspension from Showa. It adjusts the suspension damping according to the selected driving mode for optimum ride and handling.
The Pan America 1250 is powered by a high-revving 1,252cc Revolution Max engine that develops 150.19 hp of power at 8,750 rpm and 128 Nm of maximum torque at 6,750 rpm.
The standard model of the Harley-Davidson Pan America 1250 is priced at Rs 16.90 lakh while the special variant we tested costs Rs 19.99 lakh (both prices are excluding showroom).
