TYLER, Texas (KETK) – With Halloween just weeks away, communities and businesses in East Texas are having events that will keep the whole family entertained.


Halloween at the hatchery

When: Thursday Oct. 28, 6-8 p.m.

Or: Texas Freshwater Fisheries Center

Admission: $ 1 per person (cash only)

Information: Bring the costumes and the bags of candy! Local businesses will distribute sweets and treats. Guests can enter through the main parking lot as well as the overflow parking lot located on Peninsula Point Drive.


Farm Trick or Treat @ Yesterland Farms

When: 30 & 31 oct.

Or: Farms of Yesteryear, 15410 Interstate 20, Canton, TX 75103

Admission: Online: $ 21.95, At the door: $ 27.95, children under two have free admission. Admission to the group rate, which requires 15 or more people, costs $ 19.95 online only. Super admission at the group rate is $ 39.95 online only.

Information: Kids can dress in their favorite Halloween costumes and have tricks or treats on the farm. Children will take part in a scavenger hunt with clues leading to several checkpoints or processing points around the farm.

Spooky nights of yesteryear

Site: 15410 Interstate 20 Canton, TX 75103

Time and date: Open from September 18 to November 7 on Fridays and Saturdays from nightfall to 10 p.m.

Admission: Admission is $ 21.95 online and $ 27.95 at the door. Admission to the group rate, which requires 15 or more guests, costs $ 19.95 online only. Super admission at the group rate is $ 39.95 online only.

Story Time: Halloween Party (Family Friday)

When: Friday, October 29, 1:01 a.m.

Where: Rusk County Library, 106 E Main St, Henderson, TX 75652

Information: Put on your favorite costume and celebrate Halloween with RCL. Hear fun Halloween stories to step into the spooky season, eat a little snack, and make a perfect bag to collect candy on Halloween night!


Trick-or-Treat Downtown

When: Saturday October 30, 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Or: Downtown Kilgore, Texas, 75662

Information: Community organizations and merchants along E. Main Street and Rusk Street will be handing out candy and there will be multiple photo opportunities throughout the event.


Lindale Downtown Trick-or-Treat

When: Saturday October 30, 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Where: Downtown Lindale, Texas

Information: The Downtown Lindale Trick-or-Treat will feature a haunted house, photo booth, candy, games and fun!

Long-term vision

Howl-O-Ween Pet Costume Contest

When: Saturday 23 October, 3 p.m.

Information: There will be 1st, 2nd and 3rd place prizes!

Candy crawl

When: Sunday Oct. 31 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Or: Longview Shopping Center, 3500 McCann Rd Ofc, Longview, TX 75605

Information: The Candy Crawl (candy or a spell for the kids) will take place inside the mall.

Halloween family fun night

When: Saturday Oct. 30, 4-9 p.m.

Or: Parking Drug Emporium Longview, 2321 W Loop 281, Longview, TX 75604

Information: There will be vendors with candy, games, music, food, and a costume contest. Trunk-or-treaters have a chance to win a $ 100 Drug Emporium gift card for the best decorated trunk.


FBC Lufkin Halloween Block Party

When: Sunday Oct. 31 from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m.

Information: First Baptist Church Lufkin is hosting a Halloween Block Party which will include lunch, candy, games and fun.


Jack O ‘Lantern Jamboree

When: Friday October 29, 5-8 p.m.

Information: The Jack O ‘Lantern Jamboree will have fun for the whole family. There will be treats for the kids, a $ 300 silver pumpkin carving contest, free drinks for adults (21 and over), and authentic tacos from an on-site food vendor.


Pumpkin Patch @ Lane’s Chapel United Methodist Church

East Texas SPCA Trunk or Treat Fall Festival

When: Saturday, October 23, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Information: The East Texas SPCA is hosting a Fall Pet Trunk or Treat Festival. There will be trunks decorated with pet treats, music, food vendors and a photo booth. Only bring fully vaccinated and modified animals.
