David “Dave” C. Hall, Sr., husband of the late Harriet (Enders) Hall passed away peacefully on September 24, 2021 with his family by his side. Dave was born November 22, 1940, the son of the late Ester Shepard and Elmer C. Hall, Simsbury, CT. Dave and Harriet moved to New Hartford in 1961 where they spent the next 50 years together raising their family before Harriet passed away in 2011. Dave grew up on his grandfather Shepard’s dairy farm where he learned the lessons. of a long day and of hard work, the love of machines and all that is mechanical. Although he left the farm many years ago, he was still a farm boy at heart. He enjoyed traveling through New England, stopping at agricultural museums, and learning more about the history of agriculture, machines and engines. It was a walking encyclopedia of all the early automobiles. His other passion was working on his 1928 Ford Phaeton or 1935 Buick Hot Rod and driving them on the roads of Lake Waramaug and Kent, Connecticut, where he and Harriet organized family camping trips for over 20 years. Prior to his retirement, Dave spent 12 years at Avon Old Farm School in the electrical maintenance field. Not only did he love his job, but he appreciated the many special friendships he made during his time at school. Dave’s career began at the Western Auto sales counter and then progressed to Vice President, Patterson Oil, Firestone Tire Division and Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor at CT Printers and Weyerhaeuser Paper. Dave is survived by his beloved children, Cheryl Jensen (Scott) of New Hartford, David Hall, Jr. (Elaine) of Torrington, Richard Hall (Nona) of Torrington, Kristoffer Hall (Kerry Wardhaugh) of New Hartford; son-in-law, Michael Seabock of New Hartford; grandchildren, Shannon Christensen (Jeff) of Simsbury, Clayton Jensen of Broomfield, CO, Chadwick Jensen of Canton, Morgan Prindle (Alexander) of Norwalk, Maegan Hall of Torrington, David Hall, III of Torrington, Shandra Droher (George) of West Plains, MO, Jonathon Hall from Torrington, Jessica Hall from Torrington, Mackenzie Sonnenberg from New Hartford, Kacie Sonnenberg from New Hartford, Levi Seabock from New Hartford, Kristoffer Hall from Barkhamsted, Kerriana Hall from Barkhamsted; great-grandchildren, Riley and Dylan Christensen of Simsbury, Liam and Olivia Jensen of Canton and Hope Hall of Torrington.
