WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH/Gray News) – Two adorable Chihuahuas, a motorcycle and a popular social networking app were what it took for two Kansas dogs to gain a global following.
Momma and Butters know how to make an entrance by riding in style so millions can see them on their social media on their bikes.
Jesus Carrasco, the dogs’ owner, told KWCH he came up with the idea out of boredom of being locked down during the pandemic.
“We started with the Jeep and they liked it, then we went to get another bike after they sold my other one. And this time I went with a Harley and they wanted to go, so we went. said, ‘How can we bring them with us?’ We just bought a harness and started with cheap Amazon goggles,” Carrasco said.
Momma and Butters now ride fully equipped with helmets.
“The helmets come off right away and luckily…I was lucky they ended up fitting their muzzle. So it took some work on the helmets, like putting another helmet on it and then creating a little nose guard, but yes they fit,” he said.
Carrasco also said it didn’t take much convincing to get the dogs to do the trick.
“Every time I pick up my bag like I did this morning. I was just like, ‘You can go for a walk.’ He’s already jumping in his bag and ready to go, and I’m just loading it up and they’re excited. They’re going everywhere with us. We just had a newborn, so right now they’re all hungry for attention.” , did he declare.
Carrasco said he has to credit his girlfriend for the following they acquired.
“My girlfriend’s idea. A lot of it was actually his idea,” Carrasco said. “TikTok has been a lot of fun.”
Both have millions of views around the world, but they also have huge fans in Wichita.
“We usually try to stop some people if they have kids and let them pet them,” Carrasco said.
If you want to follow Momma and Butter on their adventures, you can find them on Instagram, TikTok and YouTube under the handle, @Twochihuahuas89.
Carrasco said he is looking to involve his family more in the videos as they continue to develop this adventure.
