A 17-year-old died earlier this week in a motorcycle crash in Stamford | Connecticut News

STAMFORD, CT (WFSB) The Stamford Police Department’s Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Team is continuing its investigation into a car and motorcycle accident that occurred earlier this week.

On Monday, November 22, at approximately 9:20 p.m., a 1997 Honda Shadow motorcycle and a 2005 Nissan Titan pickup truck collided on Elm St. in North State St.

The rider of the motorcycle was 17 years old. He succumbed to his injuries and died in Stamford Hospital.

The driver of the van, Edin Martinez-Peralta, 21, from Stamford, remained at the scene and spoke to investigators.

The on-site investigation revealed that Martinez-Peralta did not have a valid driver’s license, car registration or insurance.

On November 22, he was convicted of a felony for these violations. He was released on a written promise to appear in court on December 3, 2021.

Officers will work with the Stamford Superior Court Attorney’s Office to determine whether additional charges are warranted.
